The Maedar are a race of strong underearth-dwelling peoples with a history that mythically dates to the time of the Oublions, the Forgotten Ones. Many of the Maedar know intimately the caverns, tunnels and vast spaces of Suternia, the world under the world. Maedar culture is vibrant and complex; However, the Humans fear and mistrust the Maedar, having fought wars and skirmishes with them periodically through history. Many of the great huge buildings and ruins throughout Varzuun that are attributed to Cyclopean construction are in fact of Maedar craftsmanship. The Maedar seldom ever use magic but a few individuals are gifted with geomancy, the deep earth magic. Wace Pallahaxis is one such Maedar.
